THREE men died in two separate car crashes at the weekend, bringing to 39 the number of lives lost on the roads so far this year.

In Dundalk, Co Louth, 40-year-old Eamon Curran of Woodbury Gardens, Dundalk, and 35-year-old Kevin O’Malley of Woodlawns, Mill Road, Mornington, Co Meath died in a collision involving three vehicles.

In Co Sligo, 22-year-old Ian Melvin of Collaney, Ballymote was killed when his car went out of control and crashed into a wall.
