‘Frustrated’ group offers alternative Cork 2005

CONTINUING dissatisfaction with Cork’s progress towards its tenure as European Capital Of Culture in 2005 has led to the establishment of a group promising an alternative platform.

Where’s Me Culture? was formed following a highly successful public meeting last Saturday in Cork’s Kino Cinema, attended by over 70 people involved in all areas of arts and culture in the city. A website - www.wheresmeculture.com - has already been launched.

The meeting was convened by promoter/businessman Joe Kelly, former co-owner of pubs The Bodega and The Roundy and The Savoy nightclub; Andrea Kennedy, co-owner of One nightclub, and Mick Hannigan, director of the Cork Film Festival and owner of the Kino cinema.
