THE Irish are big spenders when they go abroad, flashing more cash than tourists who come here.

On their 1.3 million trips abroad in the last three months of 2005, the Irish spent €1.03 billion.

By contrast, the 1.5m visitors to our shores in the period spent €929m - leaving a €106m net outflow.
