SELECTED members of the Defence Forces have received anti-hepatitis injections in the event of soldiers having to replace prison officers who are threatening industrial action.

A spokesperson for the Department of Defence said soldiers in barracks located near prisons have taken part in an inoculation programme.

“Members of the Defence Forces have received anti-hepatitis injections,” the spokesman confirmed.
