Jason wins the right to school
The Government had cut back on classroom carers just before he was due to start. The North Eastern Health Board assessed Jason and found he was capable of starting without one.
“This was totally unacceptable as he was, and still is, in nappies,” said Gearóid. “The school were accepting him only if he had a classroom assistant but, in the health board’s eyes, there was not enough wrong with him.”
