Irish property duo set to buy Villa

The two London-based brothers from Co Galway are set to make a bid for control of the club this Wednesday.

Comer Homes Group, which has assets of £1 billion (€1.4 billion), are set to complete the formalities of the takeover at a meeting with Villa chairman Doug Ellis and the club’s board. Luke and Brian Comer, aged 47 and 45 respectively, have made a fortune in the past 15 years converting old properties in London into houses and apartments. Their consortium will take over 58% of the club, managed by David O’Leary who yesterday expressed interest in taking up the Ireland manager’s job in the future but not until he has fulfilled all his ambitions in club football.
