AN INDEPENDENT commission should be formed to adjudicate on the application by Waterford City Council to extend its boundary into south Kilkenny, a Waterford TD says.

Brian O’Shea, the Labour Party’s Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs spokesman, has signalled his intention to maintain pressure on the Government to establish such a group.

“This is one of the most important issues for the proper development of Waterford city and the south Kilkenny area and I intend to keep pressure on the Government to put the necessary structures in place so an independent decision can made on the matter as soon as possible,” he said.
