WOMEN who claim they had their wombs needlessly removed by a doctor will have to wait anything up to a year for answers, it emerged yesterday.

The Medical Council, which acts as a watchdog for doctors, has been bitterly criticised for canceling meetings on an inquiry into Co Louth-based Dr Michael Neary.

Sheila O’Connor of Patient Focus, a support group for up to 80 women who say their had their wombs removed, said the delays meant they had lost all faith in the Medical Council.
