FIVE new roads built in the Mid-West went over budget by a massive €128 million, it was revealed yesterday.

Issuing the detailed costing’s chairman of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee, Michael Noonan, TD, criticised such squandering of taxpayers money.

The upgrading of the Limerick/Ennis Road started out with a projected cost of €85 million and ended costing €145 million.
