Cullen silent on what Williams promoter paid for use of Park

FINANCIAL details of the Government’s letting of the Phoenix Park for the Robbie Williams concert last August, attended by a record 135,000 fans, will be scrutinised by the taxpayers’ public finance watchdog.

Minister for the Environment Martin Cullen is refusing to divulge how much concert promoters MCD were charged to rent the venue on Saturday, August 9, for the largest ever open-air rock concert in the country.

Tickets for the gig by the pop megastar cost €59.50, bringing in up to €8m in ticket revenue alone.
