Phone and rail services criticised

IRISH consumers have recorded some of the highest levels of dissatisfaction among Europeans for phone services as well as some forms of transport, especially railways, according to a new Eurobarometer survey.

However, the study on European attitudes to utility, telecommunication and transport services shows Irish people are, in contrast, generally pleased with electricity, gas, water and postal services as well as airlines.

The wide-ranging study measured the attitude of consumers across the then 15 EU member states in 2003 to the price and quality of major public services.
