Eight Aer Lingus managers wrote ‘push’ document

SOME eight members of the Aer Lingus management team were involved in preparing the controversial ‘push’ document designed to reduce staff numbers last year.

The airline’s chairman John Sharman will appear before a specially convened meeting of the Oireachtas transport committee today to discuss the leaked business plan from July 2004.

Mr Sharman is expected to come under pressure from opposition TDs and senators, as well as from union representatives as he explains the contents of the document.
