Disability seminar

PEOPLE with intellectual disability have been traditionally excluded from personal decision-making and seek a voice when it comes to where they live, work and socialise, a seminar in Dublin heard yesterday.

The first national conference of people with intellectual disability brought together almost 150 people from all over Ireland to promote the need for services that are in tune with how they wish to live their lives. It was organised by the National Association of Intellectual Disability of Ireland (NAMHI).
