GARDAÍ involved in Operation Anvil seized cannabis with an estimated street value of €1m when they stopped a jeep in Co Meath.

A man in his 30s was arrested after the jeep was searched near Rathoath on Wednesday night. Approximately 100kg of cannabis was discovered.

The man was being questioned yesterday at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Operation Anvil started in May and is aimed at gun crime in Dublin.

In a separate operation, two people, a man and a woman, were arrested after cocaine with an estimated market value of €400,000 was discovered in the East Wall district of Dublin’s north inner city and are being held under drug trafficking legislation.
