Soap stars hope to clean up for charity

IRISH soap stars took to the sea ahead of their appearance on the catwalk to raise vital funds for lifeboats over the weekend.

Soap stars hope to clean up for charity

While the actors from Fair City and Ros na Rún are well used to getting dressed up and putting on make-up, this will be a first taste of modelling for many of those involved.

The fashion show Faith, Soap and Charity II, will see leading

actors from both shows rubbing shoulders in a Galway hotel. The proceeds, expected to be several thousand euro, will be donated to the Galway Royal National Lifeboat Institution of Ireland.

Simon Keogh, who plays Floyd Phelan in Fair City, and Ros na Run's Caitriona Ní Loideán actress Máire Eilis Ní Fhlatharta will host the evening of style at the Radisson SAS Hotel on March 22.

The pair got a glimpse of the work of the RNLI when they went out on the Dun Laoghaire lifeboat for the launch of the fashion event.

Also appearing on the night will be Ros na Rún cast members Dairíne Ní Dhonnchú (Sinead Ní Bhaoill), Linda Bhreathnach (Roise), Sorcha Ní Chéide (Riona), Seán T Ó Meallaigh (Eddie) and Pól Ó Gríofa (Mack). From Fair City are Orlaith Rafter (Robin), Karla Young (Kira), Hilda Fay (Tracy), Sorcha Furlong (Orla), Killian O Sullivan (Lorcan), Alan Archbold (Richard), Gerard Byrne (Malachy) and

Sabina Brennan (Tess). Tickets cost €40 and can be booked on the credit card hotline on (091) 509950.
