A WOMAN at the centre of a Government row over compensation for contaminated blood has died in London while awaiting a third liver transplant.

Sylvia O'Leary, 32, contracted hepatitis C after her first liver transplant 12 years ago at a British hospital where a contaminated product was used.

The mother of two had originally been diagnosed with a kidney complaint before the Department of Health approved her liver transplant operation in Britain.
