French vessel refloated off the coast of Kerry

A LARGE French fishing vessel, which ran aground off the Kerry coast, was anchored in Dingle harbour last night after a successful refloating operation.

The 38-metre Pors Piron, with 10 crew, got stranded on rocks at the mouth of Dingle Harbour at around 4.00am yesterday.

But it was towed to safety by a local fishing vessel, The Guiding Star, at high tide yesterday afternoon.
