Rabbitte rules out joining PDs in next government

LABOUR leader Pat Rabbitte has ruled out going into government with the PDs after the next election, saying Mary Harney’s party was “up to their eyes in the same waste and broken promises as Fianna Fáil.”

In a hard-hitting speech in Dun Laoghaire last night, Mr Rabbitte said he could not detect “anything even remotely similar” between his party’s policies and the hard-faced, market-driven politics” of the PDs.

He ridiculed Ms Harney for saying she would consider entering government with Fine Gael and Labour.
