LONG periods of nursery care for children under the age of three may be producing more insecure and aggressive children, a childcare study suggests.

But childcare experts here have warned such findings are “tentative” and do not explain the cause of such behaviour or whether it is a long-term phenomenon.

The initial findings of the British study, ‘Families, Children and Child Care’ (FCCC), conclude “the less time children spend in group care before three years, the better”.
