A MAN in his 30s was left fighting for his life yesterday after he was stabbed several times following a row at a house in Tallaght, south Dublin.

The attack took place at a home in the Whitebrook Park area at around 2.30am yesterday morning. It is understood the man had been drinking with a group of friends before the disturbance.

The victim, who is from the Crumlin area and known to gardaí, was stabbed twice in the back and once in the shoulder.

He was rushed to Tallaght Hospital where he is said to be in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, a woman was injured in a pellet gun attack on a house in the Blanchardstown area of north Dublin. A shot was fired through the front window of the home in Sheepville Avenue at around 11.30pm on Monday night.

The injured woman, who is in her 50s, was taken to nearby Connolly Hospital.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
