TIGHT-FISTED TDs and senators are stealing daily newspapers from the Leinster House library, forcing staff to fasten down the papers.

Was it the TD in the library who did it?

Ahead of Dáil Éireann winding up today for the summer recess, librarians attached the papers to sticks to prevent stingy Oireachtas members from lifting them.

TDs are currently paid €80,000 and senators get €56,000, as well as hefty expenses and allowances.
