MORE THAN 250 angry postal workers will march on the Dáil today to protest Communications Minister Dermot Ahern’s failure to hand over what they claim are their legitimate shares in the company.

The Communications Workers Union, which represents 8,000 postal workers and retired workers, claimed yesterday that Mr Ahern had cheated them out of their shares in the company by not setting up an Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Under the deal signed more than three years ago, the postal workers would acquire a 14.9% share in An Post in return for cooperation with a radical transformation agreement.
