Post workers slam Ahern ‘shares u-turn’
The Communications Workers Union, which represents 8,000 postal workers and retired workers, claimed yesterday that Mr Ahern had cheated them out of their shares in the company by not setting up an Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP).
Under the deal signed more than three years ago, the postal workers would acquire a 14.9% share in An Post in return for cooperation with a radical transformation agreement.
