Yeats painting fetches €840,000

A 1913 racetrack scene by Jack Butler Yeats fetched €840,000 at Christie’s annual Irish sale in London yesterday. The sale’s top lot, entitled Here She Comes, was bought by a private collector.

A lakeside landscape by 18th century artist Thomas Roberts, depicting Travellers with a horse and cart, fetched €540,384.

Walter Frederick Osborne's sentimental 1885 canvas, A New Arrival, showing a girl in a blue pinafore feeding a cat, went for €507,100.
