THE director of the National Museum believes Michael Collins is greatly misunderstood and had a great pride in our history that is sadly lacking today.

Young ‘could learn from Collins’

Pat Wallace will give the keynote address at the annual Collins commemoration at Béal na mBláth tomorrow at 2.30pm.

Mr Wallace said a study of Collins’s speeches and writings show he had a great love for our history and pride in the fact that we were the European centre of learning in the 8th and 9th centuries.
