Boy, five, dies in tractor fall

FARM tragedy claimed the life of a five-year-old in Co Tipperary yesterday.

The accident happened when the boy fell from the cab of a tractor while he was spreading silage.

Health and Safety Authority officials are due at the farm today, at Clash Toomevara, near Nenagh to investigate the accident, which occurred at 5.25pm.

Gardaí said the door accidentally opened.

The little boy was pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem will be conducted today at Nenagh Hospital.

Farm accidents claimed 19 lives last year.
