WATERFORD is spearheading a new wave in residential and community development in a new suburb of the city which is expected to be home to 12,000 more people.

Waterford to pioneer new urban design

Two new adjacent neighbourhoods in the Gracedieu and Carrickphierish areas of Waterford city will be models of planned urban design with community facilities developed in parallel with the residential developments.

The 750-hectare land-bank earmarked for development in the city’s north-western suburbs has been made more accessible with the opening on Friday of a 1.9-kilometre road built at a cost of €5 million.
