ABUSED children face an additional risk of suffering mental health problems because they are being denied therapy for several months, a charity warned yesterday.

Traumatised children are waiting up to eight months for therapy to help them cope with the sexual and physical abuse they have suffered, says the Children At Risk in Ireland (CARI) Foundation.

“Therapy can’t wait,” the organisation insisted.
