Safe and secure jobs promote good health, says Byrne

HAVING a secure job is good for you, EU Health Commissioner David Byrne told a health conference yesterday.

But experts meeting in Dublin Castle were told 600 million workdays are lost in Europe each year due to work-related illnesses.

“Safe employment is more than a mere source of personal income or even wealth,” said Mr Byrne.
