Northern Bank staff quizzed over heist

TWO young bank staff were being questioned last night about the £26.5 million (€38.7m) Northern Bank robbery in Belfast.

Chris Ward, 24, who was taken hostage during the heist last Christmas, was arrested when police staged an early morning raid on his home in a nationalist area in the west of the city.

A 22-year-old woman, believed to be a friend of Mr Ward, was also arrested at a separate address in the city.
