Severe asthma linked to moulds, say researchers

SEVERE asthma in adults may be linked to sensitivity to airborne moulds rather than pollens, researchers said yesterday.

A study in the British Medical Journal looked at 1,132 people with asthma from the European Community respiratory health survey.

The researchers looked at whether the severity of asthma is associated with sensitivity to airborne moulds, rather than to other allergens such as pollens and cats.
