PUBLIC representatives have been urged to be moderate, accurate and careful in their comments in the run-up to the citizenship referendum.

Referendum Commission chairman Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns made the comment amid fears some politicians and others campaigning for a Yes or No vote may play the race card.

“I hope there will be a good debate, that it will be conducted in the responsible framework that the issue demands,” he said.
