POOR sections of society cannot take the brunt of efforts to put the national finances back on track, Fianna Fáil TD Ned O’Keeffe said yesterday.

Mr O’Keeffe, a former junior agriculture minister, said his objections at a recent Fianna Fáil Parliamentary Party meeting were based on the views of constituents and party supporters

relayed to him. He said up to 1 billion which needed to be found to correct the national finances must be delivered by a variety of means.
