Joyriders will face full force of the law

JUSTICE Minister Michael McDowell said he is not responsible for criminals under the age of 16.

As the furore over the growing levels of joyriding continued yesterday, Mr McDowell said juvenile offenders were the responsibility of the Department of Education.

While there is a shortage of places for 14 and 15-year-old joyriders and other trouble-makers, Mr McDowell insisted there was an adequate number of places for the 16-18 group.
