Last-minute efforts were being made last night in a bid to coax all the top names onto the selection panel following months of bitter rows that have led to several candidates refusing to submit their names.

Controversial jumper, Cian O’Connor, 25, who was stripped of the Olympic gold medal he won in Athens last year following a doping scandal, had not
