THE GOVERNMENT will do all it can to try to get more jobs for Waterford, Taoiseach Bertie Ahern promised last night.

In his first official visit to the South-East in several months, Mr Ahern said the Government and the various statutory job agencies will do all in their power to bring more financial services jobs in particular to the region.

With just weeks to go before the loss of 390 jobs in the Dungarvan Waterford Crystal plant, the Taoiseach promised to deliver for Waterford. He was speaking as he officially opened an agricultural show in Kilkenny.
