ONE-FIFTH of working mothers say they have been asked about their family plans and childcare arrangements during performance review meetings.

This and other findings in the survey reflects anecdotal evidence that mothers believe having children will hamper career advancement. The report shows the likelihood of being asked such questions during reviews increases slightly if you’re a full-time working mother.

Up to 22% of working mothers reported being asked by their employer about family and childcare arrangements. This figure dropped to 16% for part-time working mothers.
