Harney pledges to tackle problems in A&E units

HEALTH Minister Mary Harney met Dublin hospital chiefs yesterday to discuss accident and emergency services in the capital.

The Tánaiste has already set out her goals for the health service, promising “additional resources with radical reform”.

Michael Lyons of Tallaght Hospital said the new health minister had been briefed about the difficulties in A&E and they had looked at some possible solutions.
