Nearly 50 criminals in jail over Limerick feud

JUST under 50 Limerick criminals are serving long-term jail sentences over the city feud, the head of the Limerick garda division said yesterday.

“They are serving sentences of up to life. Hopefully some more will be sent away in the near future,” Chief Superintendent Gerry Kelly said.

Although serious crime in Limerick has dropped significantly in recent weeks Chief Supt Kelly said full-time armed units will remain in place in the city.
