AN Oireachtas committee may seek to compel AIB to appear before it to answer questions about the €20m foreign-exchange overcharging scandal.

Oireachtas body may force AIB to attend inquiry

The bank said it would rather postpone its appearance before the Oireachtas Committee on Finance and the Public Service until an investigation into the scandal is completed.

That inquiry is being carried out by the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority (IFSRA), and is scheduled for completion in mid-June.
