THE Mater Misericordiae University Hospital has established a dedicated phone line to take calls from listeners of RTÉ Radio 1’s Liveline programme who have made offers to enhance the capacity of the Mater’s A&E department.

Hospital sets up dedicated phone line for A&E aid

Liveline’s donors are being asked to call 01-8032208 between 9am and 5pm.

The hospital is appealing to the prospective donors to call them directly in an effort to make a detailed assessment of the suitability of the many generous offers pledged.

The Mater has not been given access to the individual names and numbers of all the prospective donors to the hospital but has instead been trying to contact those donors whose company names are posted on the Liveline website by means of the Golden Pages.

The Mater stated last week that it is very interested in trying to match up the many generous offers from the public to its masterplan for a 25-bed extension to the A&E unit which was submitted to the HSE last December.

In deciding on what is best for the patients the hospital has already made a submission to the HSE for the funding of the emergency transit ward as described above.
