Irish vetting system wouldn’t stop child killers

THE vetting system for those working with children in Ireland would be incapable of filtering out child abusers and killers such as Ian Huntley.

Fine Gael's education spokeswoman Olwyn Enright said last night the system in place here would mean that only criminal convictions would be counted when vetting people for working with children.
