Ding's achievement scuppered O'Sullivan's hopes of a richer pot, having made a 146 earlier this week.

"I don't see what's wrong in making it a little bit light hearted because it can be a serious game."

O’Sullivan was on target for a perfect 147 break, but instead deliberately played to 146 instead.
