Typhoon Megi has caused the deaths of at least 10 people as it roared across the country’s north and now heads for southern China, authorities in the Philippines said today.

Surging currents swept away 20 people on a bus in central Vietnam today, including a girl ripped from her mother’s arms, while high waters killed 27 others in separate areas as Typhoon Megi loomed offshore.
