Five teachers who had to return to their schools after long periods running education centres have been allowed to retain the associated allowances of up to €27,000 a year.

The head of one of country's secondary teaching unions has said that they have heard nothing about some payments to teachers being withheld if their unions reject the Lansdowne Road Agreement.
