Met Eireann is warning of a continued risk of flooding after high tides and strong winds yesterday left hundreds of homes and businesses flooded.

Families had to be rescued from their homes as the south and west was hit with gale force winds, heavy rain and serious flooding in several parts.

Extremely hide tides, heavy rain and strong winds have wrought chaos around the country again this morning with flooding reported in some areas and motorists warned to be on high alert.
