A man who is believed to be from “Romania” is wanted by gardai for questioning in connection with the murder of a Limerick pensioner over two years ago, sources have revealed.

The murder of a young Limerick man in a crowded bar in Limerick last weekend was “brutal” and “futile”, his funeral mass heard today, Friday.

A special candlelit prayer ceremony is expected to take place tomorrow night in Thomondgate near the home of murdered pensioner Rose Hanrahan.

Locals in the area have been reacting to the news that 78-year-old Rose Hanrahan was found dead in her home yesterday.
