Bus Éireann Chairman Aidan Murphy has today announced that CEO Ray Hernan will depart in the coming months to take on a senior role in another company.

Bus Éireann workers have accused the company of engaging in “open warfare” after it announced a series of “draconian” pay cuts which threaten to push the semi-state company into strike action within weeks.

Update 2pm: Drivers at Bus Éireann have agreed to go back to talks over proposed cuts to services.
