A Dutch woman held in Qatar for nearly three months after telling police she had been raped has been released after receiving a one-year suspended prison sentence for adultery for having sex out of wedlock.

A rapist who attacked two young women in front of a group of two-year-old children, threatening to kill the youngsters if the victims did not comply, has been jailed for life.
