A garda sergeant has told an inquest that any injuries received to the late Dwayne Foster during his arrest were unintentional.

A MAN who died in Garda custody died of methadone intoxication, an inquest heard yesterday.

The inquest into the death of mother-of-one Donna Cleary was adjourned for five months today to allow the Director of Public Prosecutions to examine the garda file.

Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy said today it was unfair to blame the force for failing to execute a bench warrant for the man suspected of killing Donna Cleary.

Gardaí have named the man who died in custody this morning as 24-year-old Dwayne Foster, from Woodbank Avenue in the Finglas area of Dublin.
