A Cork village has rallied to help to keep one of Ireland’s silent services on the road.

IN spite of overnight lows of -12C and daytime temperatures of just -5C expected in some parts today, the country now looks likely not to have a white Christmas Day.

Up to 20cm of snow is forecast to fall over the east of the country in the coming two days – a record for the month of November.
